Despite being a historically significant city, higher education options remain limited; significant rural poverty in surrounding Larkana district
Larkana is the political heartland of the Bhutto family and has historical significance beyond its size. Yet for young people seeking quality higher education, options remain limited. SZABIST opened a Larkana campus specifically to bring private-sector education quality to interior Sindh — it offers business and social sciences programmes at fees below the Karachi campus.
The surrounding rural districts of Larkana — Kamber Shahdadkot, Shikarpur, Jacobabad — have among the lowest secondary school completion rates in Sindh. Students who complete FSc in Larkana often have broader access than rural peers, but navigating elite institution applications still requires guidance that is not locally available.
The Sindh Talent Scholarship, SZABIST Larkana's own financial aid, and the Engro Foundation scholarship are the most relevant financial aid sources. Students from Larkana applying to Karachi institutions (IBA, NED, SZABIST Karachi) are applying within the same province and may qualify for Sindh domicile advantages.

SZABIST Larkana is a credible option that many students underestimate — a SZABIST degree from Larkana has the same accreditation as one from Karachi. Apply to both SZABIST Larkana and Karachi campuses to keep your options open. The Sindh Talent Scholarship is your most accessible financial aid pathway — apply before October. If you have a strong academic record, Habib University's Yohsin Programme (Karachi) with full scholarship is worth serious consideration.
Daakhla is new and has not yet guided a student from Larkana — you could be the first. The city's own institutions are improving, and elite institutions remain accessible with the right preparation and the Sindh Talent Scholarship, which we will help you pursue.
