Border town with no local university; students must relocate to Quetta at minimum, often further; 120km from the nearest university
Chaman is the hometown of Daakhla's founder, Nisar Ahmed. It is a border town of around half a million people on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Balochistan's Qilla Abdullah district. There is no university in Chaman. Students who complete FSc must travel to Quetta — 120 kilometres and several hours by road — or further to Karachi, Lahore, or Islamabad to pursue higher education.
The cost of this relocation is prohibitive for most families. The average family income in Chaman is far below what is required to support a student studying in a major city without scholarship support. The result: the vast majority of FSc graduates from Chaman do not pursue higher education. Those who do are typically from families with above-average resources or those who secure scholarship support.
Chaman students who have navigated this path — with support — have gained admission to LUMS, Habib University, and other elite institutions. The Balochistan Government Scholarship and LUMS NOP are both available to Chaman students. The barrier is not ability. It is access to the right information, at the right time.

Daakhla was founded by a student from Chaman. We understand your context in a way that most counselling services do not. The LUMS NOP and Balochistan Government Scholarship are your most important pathways — both specifically cover students from Balochistan, and both have helped students from Chaman. The key step is beginning your application early: SAT preparation should start in your first year of FSc. Contact Daakhla as early as possible.
Daakhla's founder, Nisar Ahmed, is from Chaman — this district is the reason Daakhla exists. We are new and have not yet guided a student from Chaman to university, which means you could be the very first. The LUMS NOP and Balochistan Government Scholarship are open to you now, and we understand your context because we share it.
Free admissions counselling and SAT preparation for students from Pakistan’s underserved districts. Rs 10,000 for both programmes — full financial aid for those who need it.
