Admissions

What is Rolling Admissions?

Rolling admissions is an application process in which a university reviews applications as they arrive and sends decisions continuously, rather than in batches after a fixed deadline.

Definition

In a rolling admissions process, there is no single fixed deadline — the university reviews each application shortly after it is submitted and sends decisions on an ongoing basis. Spaces fill up as students are admitted and commit, which means earlier applicants have access to more spaces.

Many Pakistani universities use rolling admissions in practice, even if they set nominal deadlines. LUMS, for example, notifies students of decisions on a rolling basis throughout the application window.

Why it matters for Pakistani students

For universities with rolling admissions, applying early is a genuine strategic advantage — not just a preference. The same application that would receive a waitlist decision in February might receive an admission offer in November, simply because fewer spaces have been filled. If you are applying to a Pakistani university with rolling admissions, submit your complete application as early as possible. Do not wait until the deadline.
