Punjab as a whole is Pakistan's most developed province, but southern Punjab — Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Muzaffargarh — has indicators closer to Balochistan than to Lahore
Punjab's enormous population and concentration of universities in Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Faisalabad create a misleading impression of province-wide access. For students in southern Punjab — Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Muzaffargarh, Layyah — the reality is different: limited quality secondary schools, long distances to universities, and communities where first-generation university enrollment is still common.
The Punjab Educational Endowment Fund (PEEF) is the most accessible scholarship for rural Punjab students — it has generous income thresholds and awards are large in number. However, many students from rural Punjab who qualify for PEEF do not apply because they are not aware of it or struggle with the online application process.
Lahore dominates Punjab's higher education landscape. LUMS, UET, FAST, and Forman Christian College are all in Lahore, but accessible primarily to students who can afford to live there or are lucky enough to secure residential scholarship support. COMSATS has built satellite campuses in Sahiwal, Attock, and Vehari specifically to extend quality education into rural Punjab — these campuses are under-utilised relative to their quality and should be considered seriously.
Full scholarship — tuition, accommodation, and monthly stipend

Full scholarship — tuition, housing, and monthly living stipend
Full tuition reimbursement at public-sector universities
25%–100% tuition waiver based on FSc/entry test rank
PEEF is your most accessible scholarship pathway — apply every year before July. Students from southern Punjab (Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Muzaffargarh) may qualify for LUMS NOP alongside PEEF. COMSATS Sahiwal and Vehari campuses are serious, quality options if relocating to Lahore is not feasible. Do not dismiss these because they are less prestigious than the Lahore main campuses — the degree is the same.
Daakhla is new and has not yet guided a student from rural Punjab — you could be the first. The Punjab Educational Endowment Fund and LUMS NOP have opened top universities to South Punjab students before, and we will help you build an application that does the same.
