About This Scholarship

The UK government's flagship international scholarship. Chevening funds a one-year master's degree at any UK university and is awarded to future leaders. Competition is intense — typically 1,500+ Pakistani applicants for around 80 awards — but applicants from underrepresented regions are actively sought.

Eligibility

Pakistani citizens with a bachelor's degree, two years of work experience, leadership potential

  • Pakistani citizen
  • Bachelor's degree equivalent to a UK upper second-class 2:1
  • Two years of full-time work experience
  • English language proficiency (IELTS 6.5+ or equivalent)
  • Unconditional offer from a UK university (obtained after shortlisting)

How to Apply

  1. Apply at chevening.org before the November deadline
  2. Write four essays: leadership, networking, why the UK, and career plan
  3. Secure two referees — at least one professional
  4. If shortlisted in March, get a UK university offer before July
  5. Attend Chevening interview in May–June
